Front College Shot

Up to 31 March 1993, Kilmarnock College was managed by the Local Education Authority Strathclyde Regional Council.

On 1 April 1993 however, the College was incorporated as a Further Education Corporation under the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992. Under the management of its own Board of Management, the College became directly funded through Grant-in-Aid by the Scottish Office Education and Industry Department.

Today, the Board of Management consists of 13 members including the Principal, two staff representatives (teaching and non-teaching), a student representative and a representative from the Local Enterprise Company. The balance of the membership is drawn from industry, commerce and other local interests since the Act provides that not less than half of the Board is to be composed of members from industry, commerce or the professions.
