Units include:
• Ladies Hairdressing: Basic Cutting
• Mix, Apply and Remove Hair Colour
• Current Techniques in Long Hair
• Clipper Cutting Techniques: Gents
• Selling Skills
• Hair, Beauty and Make-up Competition Technical Skills
• Theory Class and Supported Study.
Work experience is an essential part of this course and will also involve assisting in the evening salon classes on a rota basis.
Applicants must have Standard Grade English (General Level). Due to the nature of the course, applicants will need manual dexterity, an interest in meeting people and a pride in their own appearance. A place on the course is subject to interview.
1 year full-time.
National Certificated Group Award (NCGA) Hairdressing (Level 6) (SCQF Level 6). Career prospects: Trainee Stylist.
