• IT Applications (Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Databases)
• Computer Architecture
• Working within a Project Team
• Computer Operating Systems
• Configuring a Desktop Operating System
• Troubleshooting a Desktop Operating System
• SQL
• Computer Planning
• Graded Unit.
The course also includes the opportunity to sit exams to become Microsoft certified.
Applicants should have NC Computing (Technical Support) (SCQF Level 5), NC Digital Media Computing (Higher) (SCQF Level 6), relevant work experience or one Higher in Computing/Information Systems (Grade C). Applicants should be able to demonstrate communication, ICT and numeracy essential skills at Intermediate 2 Level. A place on the course is subject to interview.
1 year full-time.
HND Computing (Technical Support) (SCQF Level 8). Career prospects: IT Consultant, Technical Test Analyst, Network Administrator, Network Manager, IT Service Desk Analyst or Business Analyst.
