Hairdressing - SVQ Level 2

This qualification comprises eight mandatory units and one optional unit taken from a choice of six job specific units such as:

• Plait and Twist Hair
• Attach Hair to Enhance a Style
• Change Hair Colour
• Give clients a Positive Impression of Yourself and your Organisation.

The assessor will support the candidate to generate a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their knowledge and practical skills. A range of methods will be used such as observations, written accounts and questions. Theory classes are available on Monday afternoons, at the College's Main Campus, Holehouse Road.

Entry Requirements
The candidate will be employed within a hairdressing environment with some knowledge and experience of salon procedures including health and safety, changing the colour of hair, shampooing, conditioning and treating hair and scalp, and cutting hair.

Benefits
The candidate completing the Level 2 qualification could become a Junior Stylist in a salon or progress to a SVQ Level 3 qualification.
