This qualification offers huge versatility, comprising of one mandatory and five optional units such as:
• Help Customers Choose Products in a Retail Environment
• Prepare Products for Sale to Customers in a Retail Environment
• Check Stock Levels and Sort Out Problems with Stock Levels in a Retail Store
• Process Payments for Purchases in a Retail Environment.
These are chosen from a selection of 99 area specific units to create the award. This gives a tailor-made Retail qualification to suit employers and each individual candidate in a variety of retail settings.
Entry Requirements
Candidates will need to be working within a retail environment and be able to show that they have the appropriate industry specific skills and knowledge to meet the evidence requirements of their SVQ level 2. Candidates can be working in a wide variety of retail setting such as front of house as cash point operators to those whose role is primarily in the stock room, processing incoming and outgoing orders.
Benefits
This qualification can help to improve career development/promotion within the candidate's existing workplace. Through completion of an SVQ Level 2 or MA, candidates can then progress to a Level 3 qualification in a choice of three defined routes, dependant on job role:
• Retail (sales professional) SVQ Level 3
• Retail (visual merchandising) SVQ Level 3
• Retail (management) SVQ Level 3.
