Modes of Study

We understand that everyone's learning requirements are different and many of our courses are offered in a variety of attendance modes; full-time, part-time day and evening, flexible, online, work-based study, a blend of part time options and even classes in the community.

Full-time

Full-time study of National Qualification (NQ) and other non-advanced courses generally involves attending college for a year, approximately 3½ days per week. Some courses may require additional days during work placements. We also offer some introductory courses which  start in August and January which run for six-months.

Full-time study of Higher National Certificate and Diploma (HNC/D) courses involves attending college approximately three days per week. HNC courses run for one year or as the first year of an HND. Full-time HND courses run for two years.

Part-time

Part-time courses are designed to fit around people's lives and, as a result, the duration and attendance pattern is course specific. The College offers part-time courses during the day and in the evening.

Most courses start each year in September but there are also opportunities to join some classes in January and at other times.

Flexible Learning

If you are unable to attend college regularly, our Flexible Learning courses allow you to study at your own pace at a time that suits you.

Work-based Learning, Day Release and Block Release

Aimed at those in employment who want to continue their professional development, the College offers a variety of part-time courses that can be studied in the work-place or on a day or block release basis. The duration and attendance pattern is course specific.

Leisure and Community Provision

Leisure and Community classes are offered on a part-time basis during the day. For further information please contact Mr Dave Wilcock on 01563 523501 ext 4085.
