Background
I am a 40 year old single parent, and on starting the course I had never achieved any qualifications. The course helped improve my confidence which in turn helped me do well when it came to all practical assessments. This all led to me achieving my SVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery. I took part in a work placement with a local butcher making a selection of pies for both his shops and supplying the catering industry. I achieved excellent feedback from my employer, and was consequently offered a job.
