Background
I came to Kilmarnock College as a mature student. I left school and graduated from Stirling University with a Degree in Human Resource Management but decided that an office job wasn't for me. After trying a few different jobs I decided to apply for the Childcare course. I had always been good with children and had considered teaching and thought that this course would give me a good foundation. After getting the right advice from the teaching staff at the College, I applied for the NC course. After completing my NC course I went on to study my HNC the following year.
"The NC Early Education and Childcare gave me the opportunity to do a placement in an Early Years establishment in which I gained experience of the practical side of childcare, which was invaluable
for me."
