Achievement
After completing the course Sharon gained employment for Bellfield Afterschool Care. Sharon's future plans are to build on her experience over the next few years and then apply for a degree in Childcare studies.

Background
Sharon first came to Kilmarnock College in August 2009 to do an HNC Early Education and Childcare. Before Sharon came to the College she was looking after her son. When Sharon became a parent helper at her son's nursery, the staff there encouraged her to think about a career in childcare. Sharon was delighted when she was accepted on to the HNC course and felt it was a great opportunity to develop new skills and re-enter employment.

"My time at the College was rewarding with very motivational tutors as well as my fellow class mates. It was hard work, but I feel very proud of my achievement. I have boosted my confidence, self esteem and I have made some good friends along the way."
