Seventy students from Kilmarnock College's Beauty department will be attending the exciting ‘Girls Day Out' event held at the SECC in Glasgow this weekend. The event, which kicks off today and will run until Sunday, is the largest event of its kind to be held in Scotland and showcases the best in women's health, beauty, lifestyle and fashion. Over 100 exhibitors, including Fake Bake, House of Fraser, Cameron House, and Clinique, will be in attendance at the event. Kilmarnock College Beauty Curriculum Manager Elaine Hutton, said: "The event will be a fantastic opportunity for our students to discuss career options with others in their field, sample a range of products, and test the different types of brands on offer. During their time at the event, each student will be required to select and evaluate two exhibitors, presenting their findings back in college next week. We are all looking forward to what will be both an exciting and educational weekend." Elaine and her students will also be hosting an ‘Open Salon' day to raise money for Cancer Research on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October from 10am to 3pm. Held in the College's reception area, students, staff and members of the public can come along and enjoy a range of beauty treatments from hair colouring to spray tanning. Students will also be offering guests ‘all things pink' including nail extensions, eye lash tints and delicious pink cupcakes, baked by Kilmarnock College supported learning students.
