Kind-hearted Kilmarnock College Beauty Therapy students, supported learning students, and staff recently held a two day ‘Open Salon’ event raising over £800 for Cancer Research.
Held in the College’s reception area, students, staff and members of the public enjoyed a range of beauty treatments in return for donations. Students also offered guests ‘all things pink’ including nail extensions, eye lash extensions and delicious pink cupcakes, baked by Kilmarnock College supported learning students. Students from SVQ Level 2 and 3 Nails, Prepare for a Career in Beauty, and NC Beauty Therapy, took part in the fundraising activities.
Kilmarnock College Beauty Curriculum Manager Elaine Hutton, said: “I know how vital donations are for Cancer Research and I am thrilled that we were able to raise such a large sum for the charity. The girls all really enjoyed themselves and were really busy the full two days. We were pleased to have such a good turn out and thank you to everyone who made donations.”
