Kilmarnock College has welcomed five new Board Members onto their Board of Management. The Board Members were selected from a large number of applicants and will play an important role in providing external expertise, experience and insight into governance and planning in order to ensure the College meets the needs of the economy and wider community.
Chair of the College Board of Management, Steve Brannagan states: “It is a pleasure to welcome our new Board Members and I have no doubt they will bring valued insight and expertise to Kilmarnock College. The Board of Management play a large role in overseeing the activities of the College and ensuring an environment which sustains and protects the College Mission and fulfils the potential of all learners.
I would also like to thank the five outgoing Board Members for their commitment and valuable input throughout the years.”
Principal of Kilmarnock College, Heather Dunk states: “I am delighted to welcome the new Board members and value the expertise they bring to the College.”
Kilmarnock College hosted a farewell dinner on Thursday 12 November at the College’s Gallery Restaurant to thank the five outgoing Board Members. Between them, the previous members provided over 26 years of public sector support to the College and committed their own time to serve on the Board and additional committees.
Former Board Member, Jackie Browne said: “I have really enjoyed being part of the College’s Board for eight years and I am sorry that I will not be there to assist the College in achieving its vision of being a five star College. I wish the Board, staff and students every success for the future.”
Newly appointed Board Members
Ian Craig - A Chartered Surveyor, Ian works for Elphinstone Holdings Ltd, a property company based in Glasgow.
Graham Latta - Graham has many years experience in commercial senior operations management, most recently with BAA Group.
Alan Lawson - Working at the Ardeer site for Chemring Energetics, Alan brings experience of project management and estates maintenance management.
Sheryl Christie - Sheryl is an ACCA qualified accountant, currently working for Portakabin Ltd.
Nicki Beveridge - Nicki has considerable experience in Human Resource Management in the public and private sector, and now provides consultancy services.
