Lecturer takes the lead on Scratch project

Lecturer Karima Audish is taking the lead on an innovative project which involves delivering training on Scratch software. Two consecutive sessions will take place 11 and 18 November 2010. This training is being made available to all computing staff in Scotland's FE colleges through the new NC Games Development Quality Development Team (QDT) and Scotland's Colleges.

The training sessions are tailored to suit the level of the award. Participants can attend virtually by using a set of headphones and an internet connection.

Kilmarnock College is currently using Scratch in the NQ Computing programme as part of a new unit developed by Karima Audish. This development has been seen by members of the QDT as an opportunity for the new NC Games Development course.

As other colleges are now considering using Scratch, training for staff is required. Rather than attending a training session which will involve travel time and expense, the training is being delivered online by Kilmarnock College to other colleges across Scotland.
