Kilmarnock College students graduating this year will bring their celebrations out in to the street, in the first ever Graduation Ceremony Procession, from the Grand Hall to the College.
Following the ceremony in the Grand Hall, a local pipe band will lead the students along London Road, back to the Main Campus, Holehouse Road. Students from the College's Prepare for a Career in Uniformed Services course will also gain some hands on experience by acting as marshals for the procession on the day.
The College has been working closely with the local police to have roads closed off to ensure the safety of the students processing as well as that of their friends and family who will be lining the streets to support them.
Heather Dunk, Principal of Kilmarnock College, said: "This is the first time we've ever organised a procession to celebrate the students' achievements. We feel this is such a positive event for Kilmarnock that we would welcome members of the local community to come along to cheer on the students."
The Graduation is taking place in the town's Grand Hall on Saturday 5 November at 11.00am with the street procession taking place at 12.00pm.
