Hairdressing students are a cut above the rest

Kilmarnock College is set to hold a hair show to display the array of hairdressing talent the students have to offer.

A culmination of organisational skills and sheer hard work will showcase the skills they have learned in a show full of glitz and glamour.

This year's show, The Hair Factor, is sponsored by Wella and includes a barbering demonstration by ANM Barbers, two student showcases 'Decades of Celebrity Hair' and ‘Avant Garde', and will have West FM DJ Colin McCardle as guest compere. The proceeds from the event will be donated to CLIC Sargent.

The College's HNC Hairdressing students are organising the event and the SVQ Level 3 Hairdressing students are styling the models for the show.

Kilmarnock College offers a wide range of hairdressing courses for those wanting to venture into the world of hairdressing for the first time or for those who already work in the industry and want to further their career with more qualifications.

Janette Clelland, Hairdessing Lecturer at Kilmarnock College, said: "We're all really excited about the upcoming hair show. Kilmarnock College prides itself on the excellent teaching it offers and what better way of demonstrating this than holding a hair show which boasts the hairdressing talent we can produce."

The event is being held in the Park Hotel, Kilmarnock on Monday 30 January 2012. Tickets will be available from December priced £10.00 from Morag Connell in the College's hairdressing department. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
