Kilmarnock College proved its hairdressing students' skills go way beyond cutting at a recent hair show which raised over one thousand pounds for charity.
Showcasing the talent-pool on offer at Kilmarnock College, the College's HNC Hairdressing students organised the event in-line with the SVQ Level 3 Hairdressing students who also styled the models for the show.
Aptly named The Hair Factor, the event managed to raise an impressive £1053.00 for CLIC Sargent, a children's charity which aims to help the whole family cope with the impact of cancer and its treatment, and in some cases, bereavement.
Sponsored by hair product giant Wella and compered by West FM DJ Colin McCardle, the plush event featured a barbering demonstration by ANM Barbers, two student showcases 'Decades of Celebrity Hair' and ‘Avant Garde'.
Kilmarnock College offers a wide range of hairdressing courses for those wanting to venture into the world of hairdressing for the first time or for those who already work in the industry and want to further their career with more qualifications.
Janette Clelland, Hairdessing Lecturer at Kilmarnock College, said: "I am so proud of the hard work and professionalism shown by all of the students who took part. Kilmarnock College prides itself on the excellent learning opportunities it offers and what better way of demonstrating this than holding a hair show which highlights the talent and expertise of our students.
"The night was a great success and this is reflected in the amount of money raised. What makes these kind of events even more special is that the money raised is going to a worthy cause."
