Customer Services

The first point of contact at the College.

Customer Services incorporates reception and a ‘One Stop Shop' area within the Main Campus. The Customer Services Team will be your first point of contact and can provide a wealth of information including; choosing the correct course, funding, student loans and UCAS applications.

The team has a wide knowledge base and is dedicated to answering all of your questions and providing a friendly and efficient service. If you need to discuss anything in private we have facilities for confidential interviews. Please ask any member of Customer Services staff.

Our notice boards are updated regularly and provide relevant, topical information. These are situated throughout the Customer Services area and adjacent to the grab and go café.

Customer Services look forward to supporting you before, during and after your studies at Kilmarnock College.

Employability Service

Kilmarnock34The Employability Service, based in the Customer Services area at the Main Campus can help you improve your employment prospects, increase your skills, eliminate barriers and therefore maximise opportunities.

The service has a drop-in facility providing one-to-one assistance to discuss your issues, options and opportunities. The service also offers additional support on subjects such as; CV writing, interview skills, job search, application forms and course guidance. In addition confidential interviews offer unbiased advice and identify any concerns you may have such as: changes to personal circumstances, debt or bereavement which may impact on your studies.

Where appropriate, this service can direct you to external agencies some of whom visit the College on a regular basis eg. Careers Scotland, Prince's Scotland Young Business Trust and Business Gateway.

Disclosure Scotland

Disclosure Scotland provides an accurate and responsive disclosure service to enhance security, public safety and protect the vulnerable society. Disclosure Scotland is part of the Scottish Criminal Record Office (SCRO) which, in turn, is a common police service and an executive agency of the Scottish Executive. You may remember that on your application form, it stated that: "If selected for interview to Child Care, Social Care, Health Care, Access to Humarnities (Arts Social Science and Primary Education), Vocational Assessment Programme or Sports and Fitness courses, legislation requires that you complete a Disclosure Scotland Form to establish suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults."Your acceptance on one of these college courses is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure to establish suitability to work with children or vulnerable people. 

The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 (as amended) applies to all courses within the College where students may be expected to have substantial contact with vulnerable groups of people.
